8/20/08 - Soufflé in Ashley’s Dream.

Don’t turn away with disdain yet. I know as well as you do that this is no soufflé - though it was supposed to be. But the story is too good to miss. I cannot wait another day to post it.

Ashley (on Google Chat):
not to sound uber creepy, but you were in my dream last night.

We were making dinner for our significant others. You were making fish with carrots and some kind of veggie soufflé and i was doing chicken with scalloped potatoes. i don’t know WHERE that menu came from but okay.

anyway, someone knocked on the door and you freaked out because you thought it was your SigO, even though we hadn’t even looked through the peephole so you suggested putting the couch in front of the door

well, i thought it was a good idea because my dream self helped you drag the couch. anyway, the person at the door was my roommate, and you laughed because we freaked out and then she ate all the food, like enough to feed 5 people, and we actually freaked out

we tied her to the couch and made her cook the whole meal over (again, that made sense in the dream. i woke up and was a little worried about my state of mind)

I was naive to believe I could succeed at making a soufflé without a whisk. So far I’ve managed all other baked-goods with just a fork and I thought this would be no different. Unfortunately as the photo shows, I was wrong about that. It still tasted good though, the way scrambled eggs with beans, bread cubes and bacon would.

On second thought - in a dream, anything goes, right?
Ok, I’ve changed my mind. I now insist this is the “soufflé” Ashley saw in her sleep.
